John is a demographer and data scientist whose perfect workday includes coding, analysing data, and explaining technical ideas to non-technical people. He has worked at the New Zealand Treasury, and in universities in Thailand and New Zealand, as well as consulting to organisations such as Unicef, the FAO, and the World Bank. He spent 11 years at Statistics New Zealand, before leaving in 2019 to found Bayesian Demography Limited. He has a Ph.D. in Demography from the Australian National University.

Junni is a statistician who likes tackling real applied problems. She is an Associate Professor at Peking University, China. She has worked in the fields of Bayesian statistics, machine learning, text mining, causal inference, and Monte Carlo algorithms. She has extensive experience teaching undergraduate, graduate, MBA and executive courses. She has a Ph.D. in Statistics from Harvard University.
